BayDocket ships its auto repair invoice software in the one subscription, and it works like this: the customer approves the estimate, you click once, and the invoice exists. Numbered in order for your shop — INV-000042, INV-000043 — never skipped, never reused.
The invoice is a frozen snapshot of that moment: the approved jobs, the prices, the tax rates in effect. Edit the RO later or change a rate in settings, and the issued invoice doesn't move. Print it or save it as a PDF straight from the browser. When your accountant asks for March, the numbers line up.

Cash at the counter, a check from the fleet account, a card over the phone — record any of them against the invoice in a couple of clicks, and the running balance updates in front of you. When payments cover the total, the repair order flips to Paid on its own.
For everyone else, there's text-to-pay: any unpaid invoice can go out as a secure link, and the customer pays by card from their phone before they even head over. Standard card-processing rates come from the processor; BayDocket adds zero markup. Sales tax is handled properly too — multiple rates, parts versus labor, per-line overrides, and tax-exempt customers who come out at zero automatically.

Mistakes fix clean — never white-out
Wrong payment amount? Reverse it — the original entry stays, the reversal sits next to it, and the balance is right again. Customer adds work after you've invoiced? Reopen the repair order: the old invoice is voided but kept on record, you make the change, and the new invoice gets its own number.
Nothing is ever deleted and nothing is ever overwritten. Every invoice, payment, reversal, and void stays in the ledger with who did it and when. That's not a limitation — it's what keeps your books defensible when a customer disputes a charge or the state comes asking.

Can I edit an invoice after it’s sent?
No — and that’s deliberate. An issued invoice is a frozen snapshot. If the job changes, you reopen the repair order: the old invoice is voided but stays on record, and the corrected one gets its own number. Your books show what happened and when, which is exactly what you want if anyone ever asks.
How do customers pay?
However they like. Record cash, card, or check at the counter, or text the customer a secure pay link so they pay by card from their phone before pickup. Every payment lands in the same ledger against the invoice, and the repair order flips to Paid the moment the balance hits zero.
Does it handle sales tax?
Yes, including the messy cases. Set up more than one tax rate, apply different rates to parts and labor or override a rate on a single line, and flag tax-exempt customers so their invoices come out right automatically. The rates in effect are frozen onto each invoice, so a later rate change never rewrites an old one.
Is payment processing extra?
