The BayDocket estimate builder: an Oil Change job card with parts and labor lines and prices, a summary with subtotal, tax, and total, and the customer card beside it.
The estimate builder — click any line to edit it in place, and the totals update as you type (demo-shop data).

Write it fast

Faster than pen and paper

A common complaint about the big-name auto repair estimate software: "everything takes a million mouse clicks." One reviewer counted 30 to 40 clicks before even starting an estimate. That's why shops go back to handwritten tickets.

BayDocket starts a new repair order in 2 clicks. Type the VIN and the year, make, and model fill in on their own. Click any line to edit it in place — no separate edit screens, no save-button hunt. And jobs you do every week become canned jobs: save the front brake job once, drop it on any estimate in one tap.

No training manual. If you can write a ticket, you can write an estimate.

Approval by text

Your customer approves each job from their phone

Stop playing phone tag while a bay sits blocked. Send the estimate by text; the customer taps the link and sees every job with its price. They approve the jobs they want and decline the ones they don't — in one pass, no call needed.

Say yes to the brakes, no to the wipers? The brake job starts now instead of waiting on a full yes. Declined work stays on the repair order for the record — struck through, never billed — so there's no "I never agreed to that" six months later. Every approval is time-stamped and on file.

The approval page a customer sees on their phone: the shop's name, the vehicle, each job with its lines and prices, and buttons to submit choices, approve the entire estimate, or decline all.
What your customer sees — each job with its price, approved or declined with a tap. No app, no login.

Straight to invoice

Approved work flows straight to the invoice

The estimate is the ticket. It moves from Estimate to Authorized when the customer approves, to Invoiced when the work is done, to Paid when the money lands — the same repair order the whole way. Nothing gets re-typed, so nothing gets mistyped.

Only approved jobs make the invoice; declined work can't sneak onto the bill. And unlike auto repair estimating software that charges extra for texting or invoicing, all of it is one price, everything included. No per-feature upsells, no "that's on the bigger plan."

Frequently asked questions

How do customers approve estimates?

By text. The customer gets a link, taps it, and sees each job with its parts, labor, and price. They tap Approve right on that page — no app to install, no account, no password. The repair order moves to Authorized the moment they do, and the approval is on record.

Can a customer approve only part of an estimate?

Yes. Approval is per job: the customer can say yes to the brake job and no to the cabin filter in the same tap-through. Approved work starts right away, and declined work stays on the repair order for the record — struck through, excluded from the total, and never billed.

What is a canned job?

A job you save once and reuse forever. Build your front brake job one time — parts, labor, prices — then apply it to any estimate in one tap. Edit the copy however the car needs; the template doesn't change.

Does it cost extra to send estimates by text?

No. Texting estimates and collecting approvals is part of the one subscription — one price, everything included. Text approvals are never a higher tier or a per-message add-on.
